Default Olympus SP-500UZ Verses Canon PowerShot S2IS

Hi there,

I'm after the advise as to the pros and cons for the two above cameras.
I'm travelling overseas next year, so I'm looking at buying one for
around the $500AU mark and wonder how these two come up. I've used
Canon in the past (just the old A60) and found it easy with
point-and-shoot, but also allowed me to get tricky should I want to.
And I guess this is what I'm still after. Something that is
point-and-shoot but where I can get tricky. I like that the Canon has
a longer optical zoom. Both have similar resolution (5 and 6 mp) which
are fine. Is there anyone out there that has objective advice on these
cameras? I'd really appreciate it.

Many thanks

Bobbie.

Hi Bobbie

I replied to a previous post on Sep8th with my thoughts:

Obviously, I'm not a superuser as the other posters on the thread. Just
a camera novice, but I really like the S2 I have.
