Camera choice

Looking for help on what camera to get.next
Currently using a Samsumg Digimax 3 which is OK but dreadfully slow.
Ideally looking for a small camera to fit in pocket or bag taking CF cards
and AA size batteries as we already have a ready supply of these. Minimum of
4Mp
Most of the reviews and stats give sizes etc but dont seem to mention speed
of starting up or taking pictures at max resolution which is important to
us.
Any advice appreciated.
