How did you get birds on your sensor? With voluptuous howls and passions unsavoury I changed my lens in an underground aviary. That's what I was thinking... That was a fragment of half-thought from my distant past. About 1955 I and a bunch of other students worked on the nightshift forking peas into pea viners for Birds Eye. One of the students was (I think) Nic Bowman who went on to make an international reputation as a counter-tenor. He used to sing various songs and chant rhymes, most of which are only now coming back to me. But I (now) do remember: Strange desires and passions unsavoury held a Master of Balliol in slavery. With voluptuous howls he would bugger owls which he kept in an underground aviary. I only wish I could remember his story about the flea rowing a toothpick round and round a chamber pot, singing a song about "I'm on the ****, I'm on the **** ... ". -- Regards, Eric Stevens |
