Default rechargeable battery used in digital camera

Hello..I do not know if this is the right forum to ask questions. But
i would like to know the market of rechargeable batteries in digital
cameras. Normally what battery chemistries are used in these devices?
Does Li-ion have an edge over NiMh?

Would really appreciate help on this score

Thank you

Shan
