No mention of course of resolution, unless I missed it. Two Leica 5M
EVFs for glasses would be good. I'd also like a mode where you could
have glasses that would envelope your eyes, no extraneous views, just
what the drone sees. This could lead to other things, like
web-linked drones in other places you could view through or control.

That would be in violation of FAA rules, but perhaps you could use such
things in some other country.

Doubtful. There are good safety reasons why the regulations require a
UAV pilot to maintain visual contact with the UAV during its flight.
One is that the obstacles or distance that prevent one from seeing the
UAV may also make radio control unreliable.

The FAA is more liberal in its regulations than most foreign
authorities. Some countries are strict because they are small and
relatively densely populated. Others because they are paranoid.

I live within the BWI no-fly zone. I can phone the FAA tower at BWI and
request an exception for recreational flying. They want my distance,
FAA registration number, flight altitude, and time of day when I want
to fly. They haven't refused me yet.

Interestingly, my state, Maryland, will not have UAV regulations before
2018. And there is a law to prevent local authorities--counties and
municipalities--from regulating UAV's.

"But suppose I'm 50 miles from any other human?" In that case there is
a different reason to keep the UAV in sight. The forums are loaded with
"I lost contact with my drone and I lost it in the
forest/lake/river/canyon/you-name-it" stories.

I agree with almost everything that you have said and almost everything that
you will say in your entire life.

I'd love to see how they're going to police drones the size of Hummingbirds (or flies) in that regard.

Just because it isn't difficult to be a criminal does not make it a good
idea to be one.
