Default Photo: Lighter band at the top of the picture

I've just had to return a set of pictures to a supermarket 1 hour
service.

A number of the pictures have a lighter (contrast) band across the top
of the picture, about 5mm deep. What could be casuing this? I thought
it was a cropping issue as the Kodak machine probably does
automatically . The lighter band is present in both 4 x 6 and 5 x 7
size pictures.

I used Kodak Ultra flim in a Nikon F90.

Regards

bring them back and have them redone. most places will have them
redone at no charge. I normally look at them prior to paying for
them, incase something is not to my liking. this has happened about 4
times over the past year with Qualex, all using 400UC if i remember
correctly.
