Nice pix, but the edited one seems to me to be over-saturated in a
Technicolor fashion. Were the actual colors really that bright and
saturated?

No. I was screwing around in post and used a Velvia preset which boosts
saturation and contrast. So many options. This is probably a little
less harsh. ;-)

Correct, this image is "a little less harsh".

I used Velvia film for a while. Why would anyone want to use a Velvia
preset now? I suppose that it is a matter of taste.

Just noodling about to see where it would lead me. That is the great
thing about digital photography today, all options are open, and there
is no cost to a redo other than time.
