Wow! This must have been taken around 1700!! Predating Talbot by 115 years!! http://easyscienceforkids.com/all-ab...-isaac-newton/ I guess that site's credibility has just been blown. However, their mistake is understandable as that image is a Matthew Brady portrait of Isaac Newton Evans, a Republican Congressman. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaac_Newton_Evans https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/3e/Isaac_Newton_Evans_-_Brady-Handy.jpg/727px-Isaac_Newton_Evans_-_Brady-Handy.jpg -- Regards, Savageduck |

He doesn't exactly look like Newton. Obviously that "easy science for kids" site is truly crappy, and its editors/compilers are idiots. All they did was a search for an Isaac Newton image and used the first result without fact checking anything. But good find on the image of the Congressman. That was not particularly difficult. The portrait style was one Brady used for more than 40 years of his career. From there it was just a matter of finding the match. Scroll down this page and you will find the good Rep. Isaac Newton Evans in the gallery. https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Category:Photographs_by_Mathew_Bra dy_and_Levin_Handy&fileuntil=Harris%2C+Isham+G.%0A Isham+G.+Harris+-+Brady-Handy.jpg#mw-category-media -- Regards, Savageduck |

All they did was a search for an Isaac Newton image and used the first result without fact checking anything. Sounds like my elementary school science classes. I used to get in trouble when my elementary teachers. They didn't know diddly about science. I used to argue with them, and prove them wrong. Once old biddy got even with me. She refused to recommend me for advanced placement. I dislike that bitch to this day. Her husband died during the school year. someone asked why he died. I sain, being married t her, he wanted to. I got into a lot of trouble for that comment. But good find on the image of the Congressman. That was not particularly difficult. He doesn't exactly look like Newton. But good find on the image of the Congressman. They write that he was born in 1643. They're running a site that's supposed to teach kids science, and they don't have a clue that there was no photography in 1643? Wow! Anybody can throw up a Web site, and these days anybody does. |
