Leca IIIf etc.
If you just want some fun using an old rangefinder for taking photographs.
Are these old Leica's an option? .....do people use them today or are they only to be put in a cabinet? Are some of the 50mm collapsible lenses (50/3.5 Elmar? ....hektor?) ok for playing around with? .....I like the price level of these cameras. I saw a IIIg mint with a 50/1.4 but this was way out of what I want to spend.....then I could buy a M6 instead. Max |

The Elmar is a fine lens but the Hektor while good was a bit soft.. Colyn Goodson email hidden http://www.colyngoodson.com |

OK.
What I have played with until now is the "poor mans" Leica.....Voigtländer ....various models with (Color Skopar 2.8 or 3.5, Ultron 2.0 ect). I was quite surprised how good the performance was (also when looking at the slides in a microskope). I find it interresting to try out the designs from the time where there was very little computer power. The designers were not bad. A Voigtländer Vito B with Color Skopar 50/3.5 can be purchased for USD 30? ....it is really high quality for the money. They probably had another approch to design a lens than today..... I have heard the Voigtländer 50/2 Ultron is close in design to the Leica
50/2 Summicron at that time. Max "ColynG©" skrev i en meddelelse ... On Wed, 25 Aug 2004 00:53:49 +0200, "MXP" wrote: OK.
