addition of custom controls, better exposure metering, more flexible focus
control, and the wide variety of other interface and operational updates
make the S50 even more capable of handling most any shooting situation.
Overall, an excellent camera for high-end consumers looking for a
full-featured digicam with great image quality. It's easy enough to operate

....bought a new one from newegg.com (highly rated vendor) for $400 w/ free
Fedex delivery a few weeks ago.

Just a quick look at pricegrabber.com reveals at least one listing for a
new, non-refurbished Canon Powershot S50 at $369.00. True, shipping adds
another $25 but that brings it up to what the gentleman is asking for his
used camera. Also, given that I work in NYC I can go to the store (whatever
it looks like) and make sure I get what I'm buying and not have to pay for
shipping (although there is a tax hit).

This particular vendor (us1camera.com) has an average rating of 4.37/5 out
of 867 reviews. The comments aren't stellar, but it's a high enough
percentage of positive to negative comments to assure me that I will have no
problem getting a camera at this price. I don't know who this Abe's of
Maine is, but it isn't the same vendor.

Btw, have any of you actually tried contacting "Setting Straight"
via email?

It also probably helps that I'm not stuck on an S50.
