Default Lens rec. for 12x20 format?

Hi, my name is Mark Baylin. I am contemplating the 12x20 format
and am wondering if anyone out there can reccomend a lens that
will cover. The camera will be a Korona 12x20 and it has a 24
inch bellows. I intend to photograph subjects up to 15-20 feet,
at the closest. I am thinking this rules out Nikon's 450mm F/9...

Also, if anyone can explain the Dagor lenses... I've never been
able to get a handle on the "blue dot" or "red dot" designations...?

Thanks very much for any help!!

I hope your not planning on that rag-a-muffin Korona 12x20 on Ebay right
now--Looks like a $600 camera to me--far from $1299 or $1499 "By It Now".
He could at least include the film holder at that inflated price!
Damn, thats a rough looking Korona!!

The normal lens for a 16x20" camera is 718mm or so and the 450 Nikon
would be very wide angle or about 95mm on a 4x5 or 20 to 24mm on a
35mm camera. 24" bellows may not be enough either. A 450mm lens will
use 17.7 inches of that at infinity. No way you'll get a subject as
close as 15' in focus.

Depends on how wide you want to go. Here's a very short list of lenses
that'll cover 12x20:

- Computar 270 f/9
- Computar 300 f/9
- Schneider 355 GClaron
- Fuji 450 C
- Nikkor 450 M

This _might_ cover:

- Schneider 210 Super Symmar XL

I had a Folmer and Schwing 12x20 some years back. I sold it as my
darkroom was too small. If I remember what shorter lenses I used on it
I'll post another comment.
