Default New Collaborative CHDK Build

If you haven't been following the development of CHDK for Canon
Powershot Cameras, here's a brief overview of the new Collaborative
CHDK:

Fast EV Switch - Use your UP/DOWN buttons to quickly change your EV
compensation without having to enter your function menu. Customizable
from 1/6EV to 4EV steps per click.

Overrides Shortcut - one button-press to quickly turn on and off your
Tv, Av, ISO, Burst-Bracketing and other CHDK override settings.

Custom User Menu Tweaks - Make your custom user menu the default CHDK
menu in ALT mode, and more.

Display Override State as OSD Element - Customizable display of all
your override settings in your EVF/LCD display.

Show Temperature - Display temperature of internal camera sensors for
CCD, Optics Array, and Batteries, in F or C. One person sending their
CHDK scripted camera up on high-altitude weather balloons has been
using this to monitor sub-freezing temperatures vs. camera/battery
performance. Astrophotographers are using the CCD temperature monitor
to alert them when the CCD is cool enough for better low-noise images.
An included "get_temperature 0,1,2" uBASIC command allows for
automated shooting via scripts, dependent on component temperatures.

Edge Overlay - Customizable "onionskin" mode displays an edges-overlay
of all high-contrast edges in your EVF/LCD display from the image in
your last half/full shutter-press. Useful for animations and panoramas
when having to align subject features from one frame to the next.
Customizable threshold value and color for edges.

Filespace Alerts - Customizable space remaining displays as text
and/or icon-gauges in percentages or MB, as well as having low-space
alert threshold settings. Also includes a real-time updated display
during video recording to show you the Kb/s recording-rate and
video-recording time remaining. During video recording you may also
use your UP/DOWN buttons to quickly change between any of the 99
Variable Bitrate or 10 Variable Quality video compression modes. If
you are running low on card-space while you are video recording you
can instantly increase the compression rate (lower the compression
number) WHILE shooting without interrupting the recording.

EVF/LCD Clock Display - 12/24 hour clock with customizable HH:MM:SS
Am/Pm and seconds-only features.

RAW Addons - Safety overrides to disable RAW filesaving during burst
modes and other special scene modes so you don't have to remember to
turn off RAW when you don't need it. New RAW-Subtract features (along
with RAW Sum and RAW Average), allows you to subtract one raw image
from one or more other raw images on the camera. (IN-Camera RAW
Processing) See this forum post
http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php/topic,2099.0.html for more
information on the many ways this feature may be used.

Scripting Parameter Sets - Choose from 1 to 9 of your favorite
settings for any of your favorite uBASIC scripts. Also includes a
quick-set to return to the script's own default settings.

Tv (shutter speed) Adapted Badpixel Removal - The "Badpixel" feature
now includes a way to choose a badpixel-file by whatever Tv value you
are shooting at the time. Slower shutter-speeds might reveal more warm
pixels. The "RAWConv" option uses a Tv value "badpixel" file,
"Average" option uses a new averaging algorithm to blend the bad-pixel
with surrounding pixel data, a gentler way of mapping them out.

Custom Curves - Define your own custom curve profiles to emulate any
manner of analog films and other special effects. Use stair-step
curves for special in-camera posterizing and solarization effects.
Three new methods are also built-in whereby you can automatically
adjust your dynamic range. +1 increases shadow detail by 1EV step, +2
by 2EV steps, and the new AutoDR which automatically adjusts the
dynamic range of your image to prevent all blown highlights and lost
shadow detail. (Used in conjunction with Zebra Mode and your +/- Fast
EV switch.) The custom-curve-editor and sample-curves are available
from the CHDK Forum.

New USB Remote Features - You no longer need to run a small script to
use your USB cable to trigger the shutter, tripping the shutter and
even focusing is now handled internally (customizable in menus). A
short-press of your USB-Remote cable switch locks focus and exposure,
a second quick press trips shutter.

25 New uBASIC and LUA Scripting Commands - including the new
"playsound x" command to trigger your camera's internal sound-events
by scripting. Useful for anti-theft scripts or audible alerts during
remote shooting from a distance when using your USB-Remote cable or
motion-detection scripts.

Motion Detection has also been improved. Can now be triggered by a
lightning flash and trip the shutter in anywhere from 45ms to 90ms on
most camera models. Easy to capture the full lightning discharge from
just the pre-strike leader. Daylight lightning photography is now
possible with short shutter speeds. Some daytime lightning shots have
even been taken hand-held due to the short shutter speeds needed. For
one of the more spectacular lightning shots caught with a Canon
Powershot + CHDK see this image:
