Default REQ: Filter recomendations (make and model)

Hi,

I am new to digital photography. My camera is Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ50.
I am trying to get setup for outdoor and macro photography. I would be
greatfull if you could make recomendations on filter or filter kits.
What I have in mind are

1) polarising
2) UV
3) Neutral density
4) Graduated neutral density

and if I can afford it for special effects

5) IR pass
6) UV pass

Would you suggest any other kind as being more or equally useful ?
What are good make and models of these. I am a grad. student so do have
budget restrictions. Would also be greatfull for pointers to
introductory and review web sites (I am using google for now).

regards

Default Filter recomendations (make and model)

For maximum flexibility for your needs, I'd recommend either Lee or Cokin's
filter system. These are devices that fit over the lens with a screw
adapter. All you need to do is buy one of each of the filters your are
looking for and then adapters for the various lenses you have based on their
filter diameter.

if you have a 58 and 79 mm filter sizes for your lenses, you'd need two
adapters and one each of the desired filters. Also, since you are looking
for an ND or a split ND, these rectangular filters will allow you to place
the split precisely where you want it.

I have the Lee system and like it quite a bit.
