It is amazing that those creatures can remain so still, even in a
30s exposure.

A hairless, cave-dwelling sloth, perhaps?

It's a cave-troll.......

If so, he must have been a pygmy cave troll, since he looked like he'd only
come up to my chest or so...were I standing next to him...

Yes. Well, I think one gets their ideas of what mythical characters look
like from the drawings in the children's books that they remember.....I
remember a book with Billy Goat Gruff trying to go across a bridge, and the
troll was beneath the bridge peeking up at him. the troll looked like he
wasn't any taller than the goat, but he had a mean look on his face. The
fairy tale didn't elaborate on exactly how the troll was going to keep the
goat from crossing the bridge....That was left to the imagination of the
reader. (me) But size didn't seem to be much of an issue at the time....:^)

I just reread the story here, and apparently size was an issue.....

Off-topic - but then this whole thread is...(O:

Douglas seems a little upset about the pasting he got here (mainly from
others, but a bit from me too):

http://tinyurl.com/8thnu

As usual the story is:

- Douglas makes false claims about enlargement (*and* perspective
correction, this time!)
- Douglas gets roundly criticised, his images are shown to be
misleading
- Douglas insults numerous folk, including me, even though I did not
resort to any personal abuse..
- Douglas *removes* the images (in less than 2 days - a new Douglas
record!), so there is no evidence of what he did. (Except the copies I
have kept......)

Gotta laugh..

Gotta read the books, Bret.
Amazing stuff. Tolkien was a genious, and basically invented not only a
killer story, but an entire "world history." The movies were OK, but they
could have easily made 12 movies from them and still have to strip the
characters to the bone.
