Use FA not FS so those of us that don't care to see eBay spams don't
have to see this.

Thank you.

Evan

This fool has been told that before, and in his responce he made reference
to the dictionary.
Evidently he prefers what he feels is right and disregard the charter of the
news group.
What can you expect from an MIT engineer eh?

I wonder... Does this newsgroup have a charter that states that a for
auction post should be marked FA? I bet the MIT abuse / NOC department
would like to see if he's violating a newsgroup charter - repeatedly.

The funny thing is that the charter does say that Auctin posts are allowed,
but must be clearly stated as such. There are many that complain about the
auction posts which that is there right to do so. If posted correctly with
FA: or Auction the posts can be easily filtered out.
If you notice his reply today I assume that it did not sell as his buy now
price was $12.00. I recently purchased a Sandisk 8-1 for $5.99 new.

Well, I took a look at the charter. It says nothing about FS/FA. However,
the charter does say that internet auction postings like ebay should say
AUCTION in them, so I will do that. Incidentally, the example given in the
charter uses 'for sale' in their ebay example, not for auction. Besides which,
my auctions have had a sale price available as well($12), so for sale is valid
for that reason too. So it seems your recommended fix is in violation of the
charter as well. Also, the charter says there should be no replies to such
postings in the newsgroup, only through e-mail, though I suspect that doesn't
apply here.
