Default D100 -- compact flash cards (help!)

I'm new to digital photography and may purchase a Nikon D100. What
should I be taking into consideration in selecting memory (which I
understand is the compact flash card)? I'd appreciate suggestions; I
don't want to find I've got too little memory to save images! Many
thanks, Stuart

Stuart: The Sandisk Ultra and new Extreme cards are also excellent -- save
up and get a 512MB card

I've always had good experience with Lexar. Sandisk performs well also.
Definitely get at least a 512MB CF card or higher, especially if you use
RAW format. You can get up to a 4GB card, but if I needed that much
storage, I'd prefer to have several 512MB cards, just in case one fails. :-O

buy the Canon 10D, unless you have a huge investment in Nikon glass.

Shoot everything you do in RAW with at least a 512 Meg card.
