Default Delkin pop-up LCD shade for DSLR's

I bought the Delkin pop-up shade for my Maxxum 7D.

Pros:
..well made, but of lower quality than the camera, so a feeling of
hanging something 'cheap' on the camera.
..very light,
..snaps on (using the viewfinder clip) easilly and removes easily.
..closes easily, something like a Hassy viewfinder

Cons:

..a bit clumsy to open (too stiff)
..doesn't open quite far enough upward (another couple mm would be nice)
..doesn't fit as snugly as it could at the bottom.
..viewfinder is a bit deep, can't see entire scene and you have to move
your eye position to see all the data to the side and below the image.
Even if you move the "eyecup" portion of the Delkin device, it's still a
bit hard to see everything.
..a bit pricey (CAD$47.50 in photo store here).

I haven't had a chance to use it in sunlight yet as the weather has been
on the bad side of miserable for as couple weeks now with no sign of
improvement.

"Everybody talks about the weather but nobody does anything about it."
-Samuel Clemens.

Cheers,
Alan
