People Are Dumping Their Fuji X'x like crazy!
In article , android
says... Fuji should finally add stabilisation to their bodies, but I read that because the lens mount (or the body?) is too small, they can't do it. Won't happen! They want you to buy their own lenses... They could combine IBIS with OIS the way Olympus is doing and get 6 1/2 stops of stabilisation. -- Alfred Molon Olympus E-series DSLRs and micro 4/3 forum at http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/MyOlympus/ http://myolympus.org/ photo sharing site |

Well, I just think that they want to avoid giving IS to third party gear... Fujifilm has pretty much explained why their X-Mount cameras are not suitable for IBIS. There is not enough tolerance to allow for even minute IBIS sensor movement which would induced vignetting from the interior edges of the X-Mount. For them it would require a complete mount redesign rather than just installing an IBIS capable sensor. They prefer to leave IS/VR/OS to the lens, and if the lens is fast enough, let the glass and photographer deal with "camera shake" much as Nikon, and Canon have for their DSLRs. There is of course the rumored X-T2S, the “S” being for “Stabilization”, but that is alleged to be optimized for the expensive Fujifilm Video lenses, and an example has yet to be seen in the wild. -- Regards, Savageduck |
