Default Lenses that satisfy

But for something longer, in the past I had one of those 480/9 Nikkor

A bit of a hassle to use, but sharper than anything else I ever

But back to the point: I find these lenses very satisfying.
They produce great results. (I do only b&w)
So the ? is:
What are the lenses you have which you find (a) satisfying and (just
to get another perspective) (b) not satisfying.

I have the M-series Nikkor 450mm f/9. This is a super lens, not
very large and produces excellent pictures even on a modern dSLR,
wide open. It's a modern semi-apo Tessar design. I don't know
if they are still available new. Its coverage angle is standard for
a Tessar.
