Why don't camera reviews cover the data connection to the PC?

Don't let that stop you from notifying your local newspapers, consumer advocates, and government representatives. Probably should start at the city/county level and work your way up. This outrage must end! It doesn't strike you as deceptive that both Casio listed a tremendous amount of detail in that referenced web site for the other components yet listed something as critical as a non-standard interface using standard language? http://www.casio.com/products/Camera...om/EX-Z1080BE/ Calling this Casio-proprietary port USB or USB/AV (when it comes with both USB and AV cables) is wrong. Casio should have called it "Proprietary USB/AV" or "Casio port" or whatever that port is officially called. BTW, does anyone know what the official name of the Casio proprietary camera port is called? |

It doesn't strike you as deceptive that both Casio listed a tremendous amount of detail in that referenced web site for the other components yet listed something as critical as a non-standard interface using standard language? http://www.casio.com/products/Camera...om/EX-Z1080BE/ Nope. It's common throughout the industry, for the reason I've already explained. Calling this Casio-proprietary port USB or USB/AV (when it comes with both USB and AV cables) is wrong. Nope. It is a standard USB port even though the connector is non-standard. The supplied cable works with any standard USB connector. Casio should have called it "Proprietary USB/AV" or "Casio port" or whatever that port is officially called. To make you happy? Would you have been happier if the cable were permanently connected to the camera, eliminating the connector you don't like? BTW, does anyone know what the official name of the Casio proprietary camera port is called? USB/AV Connector, just as it says. -- Very best wishes for the holiday season and for the coming new year, John |
