Digital Printers???????which one to buy
From:
Out of all available which is the most popular for doing up to 16x20 prints? There are three good models that print sheets up to 13x19", two from Epson (1280, 2200) and one from Canon. The Epsons also accept roll paper so you can print much longer if necessary, but they are limited to 13". If you can live with that size these are much cheaper. If that's what you want you'll probably find this link very helpful, scroll down to the 2nd item in the FAQs ... http://www.inkjetart.com/news/archive/IJN_04-18-04.html If you REALLY want 16x20's the best option is the new Epson 4000 Professional, which costs $1,800, accepts 17x22" sheet paper or 17" wide rolls, and uses the same archival inks as the 2200. This is a really fine printer (I've been using one for about a month now) but costs 3-4x more than the others and it's on backorder due to heavy demand. These sites might be of interest. Beyond this there's the 24" wide Epson 7600 Pro ... http://www.inkjetart.com/4000/index.html http://www.luminous-landscape.com/re...0-update.shtml Bill |
