Default backpack?

My f64 backpack finally crapped out after several years: failed
zippers. I have LF equipment including a Wisner camera that is above
average in size, plus 5 lenses, plus Stuff. What backpack do you
suggest I buy?
Thanks, Art

Can't you just get new zippers installed?

I have a LowerPro PhotoTrekker AW that I'm pretty happy with. The zippers
seem very tough.

I just use my vintage 1977 Kelty mountaineering
external frame pack, which carries weight better
than other pack I've ever used. It allows me to
compartmentalize (roomy upper and lower comparments
+ 5 side pockets) and the nickel/chrome plated
zippers have never worn out. I can either trek for
about two weeks or carry my 4x5 camera gear + about
20 4x5 holders and my 35mm camera.

I strap my gitzo tripod on the outside, usually
where my ice axe would go. Well anyway, I'm just
an old guy with old equipment that still works
and works -- better than most new equipment I see

Future generations will find you buried on some snowy cliffside clinging
to a film camera (I believe).

That is if Global warming doesn't take over :^) Don't Tell it to the Mid
west.
