I remember the Uncle Josh pork frogs and cheese eggs always served as a
decent bait in a variety of situations. I can't seem to find any at my
local stores. Are they still in business?

Oh yeah, Uncle Josh is still in business. They've actually expanded their
product line, they're still making pork baits, but now they're making soft
plastic lures and even pork sal****er and Muskie lures.

Oddly enough, you can find them on the web at http://www.unclejosh.com .

If you can't find their products locally, it's strictly a matter that your
bait/tackle dealer isn't carrying them.

I don't know if it applies to all species, but I have read that using cheese
as bait is like feeding poison to the fish. Apparently they cannot digest
it, not pass it through. If they take in a goodsized chunck of chees, they
die. I guess if you plan on killing all the fish you catch, you might not
think that it matters. But a lot of it gets thrown off on casting, and it
is availabel to the fish that you are not going to catch.
Has anyone else read this?

Uncle Josh changed hands in 2002 and is alive and well in Fort
Atkinson WI.

They are looking forward to racord profits with their digital lure
line expected to debut in the third quarter 05 in time for the fall
seasin.
