rechargeable CR123A batteries?
recharging lithiums is theoretically impossible.
These batteries may have the same formfactor but that's it. At the very least the lifetime between charges will be a LOT less than the lifetime of CR123s. At worst they may not work because of lower voltage. You're better off getting a batterypack that takes AA sized batteries. Those can be had nearly anywhere (rechargables as well) a lot cheaper. rechargeable CR123A batteries?
Thanks for your info. Actually, I would like to see if I can use the
rechargeable CR123A batteries for the Leica SF24 flash. I just think that the lithium ones will be much more expensive than the rechargeable ones in a long one. At the same time, I am also aware that the capacity of the NiMH batteries will not be as much as lithium ones. Therefore, I would like to know if anybody has experience on this. Thanks again, ayu "Digitalis" ??? news On Sat, 24 Jan 2004 10:47:20 +0100, Jeroen Wenting wrote: "ayu" wrote in message ... At worst they may not work because of lower voltage. If you had checked, you would see that these are a special format NiMH battery. CR123 lithiums are typically 3.0V, whereas NiMH are available in increments of 1.2V. It is likely these batteries are composed of more than one NiMH cell. The lifetime is a suggested 5 years, which is longer than most active uses of a single CR123 lithium battery. For storage or long term charge uses, keep in mind that NiMH batteries will self-discharge over a month or two. You have to decide whether you are going through enough lithium batteries to make these beasts economical and useful. You also have to know whether your equipment will work reliably with them. It would also help if you indicated why you wanted this battery? |
