So

the sheep, oranges and sugar plantations of Florida are
open to attack by
the hordes of camera wielding terrorists lurking just
outside the fence.
Perhaps readying themselves for a deadly drive-by
photo-op. (This is all
Obama's fault!)

This particular item isn't his fault, perhaps because
farmers are beneath
his level of concern. It is sort of refreshing to find
something in the country that Obama hasn't personally
screwed up.

So tell us. Exactly how has or President PERSONALLY, screwed
up your life.

You mean apart from ObamaCare, his major and arguably only
accomplishment so
far?

Are you talking about the medical system that prevents denial
of coverage? Are you talking about the medical system that
will mitigate the choice between eating and medications for
some people?

No, I'm talking about ObamaCare.

BTW Since you don't like it, tell us precisely what it is that
you don't like. I assume you have read and digested the entire
legislation.

No one has, apparently.

So you feel a program that you don't know anything about is
screwed up.

Who tells you what to think when dealing with something you
don't know anything about? Rush or Glenn or Sean or Michael?

I'll tell you something that's wrong. I went to the lab to haqve
them take a blood sample aqnd test it for my diabetes doctor,
which aI have done every three months. They didn't "hasve an
order on file", so they refused to take my blood. I said, "My
doctor wants my blood drawn for these tests a week before my
appointment every three months, and my appointment is next week,
so you need to draw it. I have been fasting for the last 12
hours." they said, "We can't draw it without an order."

I said, "Your salery, his salery, this building, his building,
and all your and his equiupment and tools and nurses nurses and
employees are all here because of me and my money, and all paid
for by me and my money and have been all of my working life. All
of you are my employees. Now, draw my blood."

They still refused to draw my blood. So I went to my appointment
the next week without any lab tests being done, and as a result,
the appointment was virtually worthless, because the doctor
didn't have any data on which to adjust my medications.

This is what's wrong with the medical profession today, and
Obama's stupid plan doesn't address this problem at all, so it
is just as worthless as what they are doing right now.

I spent over 40 years working and paying into a medical plan, and
supporting the medical profession and all its hangers on with my
efforts, and they treat me like a nobody, and don't pay any
attention to me at all. I should be in charge of all of them!

How about them apples?

I have regular blood tests. I never have one without an order. You
too should have had an order.

Regards,

Eric Stevens

Just because you want to whine and grovel before your own
employees, that deoesn't mean that we all do. When I pay someone
else's salery, I expect them to take orders from me. - Sorry about
that.

Bill, (a) that's completely irrelevant to what he said, and (b) he's
right. You should have had a doctor's order for the lab. It's just
plain unreasonable to expect them to do the bloodwork without a
doctor's order, and none of the reasons you've given change that.

Sorry, but I am unconvinced. In my libertarian world, anyone who
wants any drug on the market could get it without a prescription.

Well, that doesn't make any sense to me. You are not a physician, and
it's reasonable to regulate these things properly. I'm libertarian
myself, but within reason.

Doctors would be advisors, and surgeons, and nothing more. They
would be totally subserviant to the people who hire them (Us sick
people) Same for the labs, nurses and everyone else. If I want an
engineer to design something for me, He works for me. He submits me
his design, and if I don;lt want to build the item to his specs,
well then, I don't build it! He doesn't have the power to force me
to build anything.

That last is fair enough. If your business is building things to
engineers' designs, then you can do it or not as you like.

Following your own logic, if doctors, nurses, labs etc. don't want to
sell you a particular product or service, then they have exactly the
same right to deny you their business as you do to deny an engineer
your business. Eh?
Why should any doctor have that kind of power over me?

He doesn't, nor do you have that kind of power over him.

Or his nurses or labs, either? We live in a f***** up society, where
groups of workers have banded together and bribed our congressmen to
make laws in restraint of trade that defeat the competition system,
and force us to pay excessive amounts of money for poor service. If
you want other examples, I have several of them. - And, my list is
growing all the time. What, exactly gives some doctor or anyone else the
power to dictate
to me hoiw I should be taken care of when I am sick? Does being sick
reduce me to some lower status? Did our founding fathers say, "All
men are created equal unless they are sick?" What a revolting
development this government has become. And its the liberal
socialists who have accelerated the process, if not being primarily
responsible for it.

I'm with you as far as "liberal" socialists go, but much of the rest
of what you say is just unreasonable. Letting you, without
appropriate training or background, prescribe for yourself, would
just create a bonanza for trial lawyers. And some of those are as bad
as if not worse than socialists.

If I was stupid enough to kill myself, well, more air and water (and
doctors time) for the rest of us.....Darwin's theory in pradtice. Why
would anyone else care? Interference with freedom is exactly that, and it
is not the libertarian way.

Yes, but the kind of people who qualify for the Darwin Awards are food and
drink to trial lawyers.

Yes. I have to admit that the legal system is also in as much need of
regulation as the banking system.....
