IIRC, the one and only time I was ever in Toronto was sometime in the mid-1970s. That was business, not tourism, and I flew and took the subway. (Yes, the subway went only so far, and one had to take a bus the rest of the way. It probably goes all the way to the airport now.) Bob |

I must be blind, but I'll be damned if I can see the contradiction in the signage. Help an old guy out... where is the contradictory language in those signs. As for the price hike... Supply & Demand. Amazing how that works. Let the team make it to the playoffs or series and watch what happens when everybody wants to attend the game. Hint: The parking does not become cheaper nor do the ticket. Doubt that? Drive on over to San Diego when they have the Comic Con and park your car. |

I fail to see anything contradictory, but scumbag lawyers can find meat on the carcass LONG after the jackals and buzzards have left. As for the price hike... Supply & Demand. Amazing how that works. Rich A should come down to the Texas Medical Center here in Houston if he wants to experience REAL rip-off parking prices. The sad part: If you have a loved one in the hospitals there you are forced to pay - there really isn't any choice. Doubt that? Drive on over to San Diego when they have the Comic Con and park your car. |

Help an old guy out... where is the contradictory language : in those signs. One sign insiste that we don't have any jusisdiction over your vehicle; all we do is rent space. Whatever happens to it is not in any way our fault or concern. The other asserts that if you don't pay up on time, we have the absolute right to seize your car and transport it to parts unknown, without further notification, at your sole expense. Don't you think a good (intelligent, self-interested, greedy, mercenary) lawyer could find an argument in that? Bob |

The sad part: If you have a : loved one in the hospitals there you are forced to pay - there really isn't : any choice. And the parking fees aren't reimbursible by your insurance plan. What the hospitals have done is lay off some of their costs on their clients in a manner not subject to any of the negotiated price management that insurance companies try to promote. It's along the same line as hospitals' unwillingness to operate any form of 24-hour clinic to triage minor afflictions, thereby allowing them to treat every upset stomach and stubbed toe as an emergency room visit and to force everyone (and their insurance plans) to help absorb the high cost of emergency room equipment and staffing. Suburban hospitals are the most effective parking ripoff artists, because downtown hospitals are more likely to fall within the range of public transportation. For example, when my wife spent a week in Mass General a few years ago, it was only two subway stops from my office. (Obligatory photographic content: None. But my stock photos of Cambridge, the City that employs me, do include several decent shots of Mt. Auburn, the hospital whose doctors and nurses saved my life 17 years ago.) Bob |

Your hospitals are different from the ones here. The hospitals here own and operate walk-in clinics. The hospitals here have "free" valet parking. You might need ER treatment if you don't tip for the "free" service, but theoretically you could park free. They treat broken kneecaps, without questioning? -- PeterN |

The last time I parked in one of the Medical Center garages, the credit card payment system was down, effectively trapping me and a few other vehicles on the ground floor of the garage until it started working again fifteen minutes later. |
