The EOS M5 Is Here
The exec summary of the DPR:
https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/can...sions-review/4 I'm more interested in files than handling but think that this is the first interesting upgrade of the EOS-M line since the original M and will at least provide a reasonable replacement option for devices that have reached their end of life. -- teleportation kills |

Would the skeptics of a couple of days ago finally admit they got no clue what's going on? SLRs are finished. Gone. Kaput. Keel over. Dead as a dodo. Except for a couple of REAL professionals who MUST have very fast continuous AF following whatever it is that they photograph. The definition of niche market. The rest of the world of photography will be using mirrorless in less than 5 years. Mark my words, I'll definitely be back then to claim it! |

Is it just me, or would the above paragraph be more readable with the use of a comma or two? Those who use "purpose made cameras" do so because they are more serious about taking photos and in that respect this has always been the case. The more serious the better you equiped yourself. This is no more niche that equiping yourself with a high end computer or console to play hardcore games rather than use your phone to play candy crush or using a hq home cinema system to watch movies rather than watch movies on your phone. Just because you can use a phone for various tasks other than comms does not mean you will gain the best experience. MC -- Regards, Savageduck |

I have many educated friends who are happy with blurred, crooked, dark
photos that are really terrible. It is the McDonald's of photography, and so many people are absolutely amazed when I give them a sharp 8x10" paper print. I think that there will always be a small number of people like us who enjoy photography at a moderate or high level of skill. Similarly, you have Chevrolets and Ferraris. Canon put an EVF into a mirror-less. Only EIGHT YEARS after Panasonic did. But I bet it is much better, and that's why it took 8 years. Come to think of it: my Sony 707 had a passably acceptable EVF some years before that. -- Regards, Eric Stevens |

[] Well, mFT sucks so it's irrelevant... Might for you, but it's capable of very good results, and has a much wider range of lenses available than the Canon. -- Cheers, David Web: http://www.satsignal.eu |
