Default Flash bulb in SB600

Hi

I've dropped my Nikon SB600 and now the flash bulb has gone... The
flash it self powers up but doesn't submit a flash.

Is the flash bulb replaceable?

Unless you are good at taking a watch apart, and putting all the little
gears and such back together, you would be ahead by sending the
speedlight to Nikon or a Nikon repair site. It is unknown if Nikon
will sell just a part (flash-tube) directly to a customer.

Depends on the part . I've had good luck with lens parts and camera
parts, Nikon has even faxed me exploded diagrams. Flash units are tricky,
may require much more than just a flash tube replacement before you are done
and (if you don't know this already) the capacitors in a flash can hang onto
the charge for a long time and they bite. (Not as bad as the BIG caps in a
TV but severe enough to get your undivided attention.
