Q. external power source for Sunpak 5000AF
Hi all,
I've purchased 2 of the Maha Powerbank battery packs thinking I would need to alternate both for my CP5700. Turns out they last so long that I really only need one. I still have the second one and I'm looking for a way to use it to power my Sunpak 5000AF. The 5000AF has a connection for an external power source. I have connected the Maha to the two pins that showed voltage with AA batteries installed and the display on the flash comes on, but the cap will not charge. My understanding is that the external power connection is probably a high voltage connection. Would it be possible to somehow connect the Maha battery to this connection to make it power the flash? If not, has anyone come up with a solution that would work for what I'm trying to do? I thought about rigging up some kind of cartridge or something that would fit in the battery compartment to make the connections there and then connect the Maha pack to the cartridge. I'm not sure where to start with that or if someone makes such a thing already. Any advice is greatly appreciated. |
