Default verito question

i just got a 9 inch verito w/ studio shutter from ebay. since the aperture
blades of this studio shutter is broken, plus i want to use this lenses w/
strobes. i dismantle the front & the rear elements from the tube of the
studio shutter to my alphax no 4 shutter. the 2 pieces of glass accurately
fit into the the alphax shutter, however the space or distance between the 2
elements is shorter compared to the studio shutter w/ the tubes included.
the lens elements when directly fit into alphax can focus as seen by eyes on
the ground glass. so is the tube a necessity for the verito? pls help.

Just curious - why don't you shoot a couple frames and find out?
