They should glow a bit with the headlights...enabling some decent

Why NOT, try a proprietary or a generic for the price.

|How would you take the pictures?

With a cam/palmcorder, they aren't pricy unless your into HI8, but
vhs-c is good as well.

There's tons of better stuff, but they may be too pricy or too
specialized for this single event.

|Are the following settings (and film) correct:
|
|Film: Kodak Ultramax 35mm ISO 800
|f/stop: 4
|shutter speed index: 1000
|film speed indicator: 800
|
Chances are real slim to get a good exposure at night with these
settings, but the flash experiment will not have the distance
capacity.....they say a flash can reach 60ft, but expect more like 20ft or
1/3rd of the specs on the flash.

I think doing this in the daytime is your best option.

|What kind of cam or palmcorder should I buy for night pictures within
|a car of less than 4 minutes of driving?
|
|What should I get to be able to download the video and or pictures to
|a PC? How easy is it to make pictures using a cam or palmcorder.
|
|Do you have a recommendation for anything on Ebay.com?
|
|How do I use whatever I buy?
|
|FYI:
|
|The store I took the film to suggested that I don't buy the pictures.
|I had them develop two sets, and looked at the results very briefly.
|They weren't of any use, so I took the developer's suggestion. I'm
|taking what I now have to another store today.
|
|Thanks
|Chris

That process can be a bit complex.......

1] Palmcorder from second hand shop is about ...say $20 with some film VHS-C

2] Any Twain compliant PC paaint/video capture program will work with it off
a VCR, which is connected to the RC jacks to the video card or parallel port
ones with a small included adapter to the Palmcorder or the VCR without the
adapter...

All in all at this point, a small webcam type of system is a good
and simpler way to go.
