Leica D Vario Elmarit 14-50 lens not as good as Olympus 14-54 pro lens.
This is the new Leica lens that goes as a kit lens with the Panasonic
4/3 DSLR the DMC-L1. Performance is not as good according to two sources I read. The Leica lens adds about $1100 to the price of the Panasonic kit. However, one camera mag test picked the Panasonic/Leica combo as producing significantly better images than Sony's new A100 DSLR and it's kit lens. Apparently, all 4/3 equipment is swapable between cameras that are 4/3 but I'm not sure things like IS work if you do this. |

IS works with all 4/3-Cameras, but you can only use one IS mode (IS always on). There are some shots from Photokina in the web which show that IS works definitely with Olympus cameras. For me it is exciting if Olympus will enable the usage of the aperture ring for its cameras by providing a firmware update. Clemens |

Clemens I'd hoped Olympus would have gone in-camera with it so you could use any lens. |
