Default which Digital SLRs to choose

if you you've already invested in a set of 35mm SLR lenses and
accessories, there's a good chance that you'll be able to find a
digital SLR body that's compatible with them.

That's true. Virtually any somewhat recent (like less than ~20 years old)
full-frame lense is comnpatible with the digital bodies of the corresponding
manufacturer. Nothing surprising there.

Except for the autofocus feature. Some new lenses focus with a
different mechanism. Since I rarely use autofocus this does not
bother me, but is something you need to check if you depend on AF a
lot.
