Epson P-2000

Does anyone have one of these? Something to take their pictures from their digital camera onto this device in order to look at them. Mini laptop I guess. Anyways...thoughts on this little 'expensive' toy? Yes. It is an expensive but slow toy. But when you NEED it, it is wonderful. I'd not buy one just to look at photos. Just because you cannot comprehend the process used by tens of thousands of people all over the world to turn postcard size image into wall posters... You decided to target my every post with belittling and personally vilifying remarks. How disgusting can you get? This means I can take a huge 500GB external hard drive over-seas, and use my Epson to shuffle files to and from. It also allows me to dump images onto anyone's USB flash drive, etc. This is a very nice feature. One more thing, and perhaps the reason I should keep my P-2000, is that I can access the P-2000's files right from my P-5000. Does the P-5000 rename your files when you offload your CF cards onto it? This was the main reason I sold my P-2000. jc -- "The nice thing about a mare is you get to ride a lot of different horses without having to own that many." ~ Eileen Morgan of The Mare's Nest, PA |

That sounds very strange, and makes me wonder if there was an optional setting you had perhaps activated without realizing it. My P-2000 never changed anything in the file names. All it did was copy the entire contents of the card...including the folders set up by my camera (DCIM...103...IMG_1288.jpg, for example). I wouldn't have tolerated that, so something must have been funky in your settings... -- Images (Plus Snaps & Grabs) by MarkČ at: www.pbase.com/markuson |

That is where I got one yesterday....but they are a refurb. Thats okay
though....$300 is a hell of a lot better than the $400+ they are brand new. "MarkČ" mjmorgan(lowest even number wrote in message ... TSKO wrote: Where can you get a new one for that amount? It's a very useful device in the field because it provides back-up of your image files, which allows you to keep shooting on long trips where your memory cards are insufficient, or where laptops are a problem to lug along. Even more reassuring, you can view the shots on the amazing screen to make sure everything is as it should be. If you're interested, I'd consider selling my perfectly functioning P-2000.
