Default Bronica S2 Film Back, Light Leak - help!

I recently got back a roll of negatives, and they were obviously
light struck on one side. I took the camera, opened the film back,
and removed the film insert.

Then I darkened the room and shined a penlight all around the joint
between the camera and back. When the light was against the dark
slide slot (dark slide removed), I could see the inside of the back
light up.

1. How is the dark slide slot supposed to seal against light?
2. Any idea why its not sealing?
3. Any user methods of fixing obvious problems? or deos it have to
go to Camera Wiz?

Thanks
Tom

Several years ago I had the same problem. Since it has been some time ago, I
can't remember exactly how the seal works. I think it is a piece of cloth
stretched over a rod in a slot that is spring loaded. In my case, I think
one side of the cloth came loose and I was able to put it back in.

In any case, you should be able to remove the screws that hold the plate
on the back - the one that seats against the camera - and see what is going
on around the light seal.

A simpler solution is to cover the slot on the outside with one or two strips
of black tape. If you dont have an extra back, that should solve your problem.
If you do, its a simple thing to remove the tape to insert the dark slide. If
youre in mid-roll, then you may have a problem, unless you go in your closet.
Cheers,
