Default Sonnar 150 f/4 T* - lens 'fog'

I've made an offer on a Sonnar 150 f/4 T* lens. The seller says that on
the 2nd group from the front there is a 'coating' akin to a fine mist of
droplets. He says it makes no difference to the images. I'm willing to
test a roll on it to find out.

OTOH, I like to use this lens in a lot of backlit situations, esp. in
the fall, so I'm worried that it will cause flare.

1) Is this a common or known problem?

2) Is it possible it is fungus?

3) Is it cleanable/repairable by a camera repair shop?

Cheers,
Alan.

I'd check on the availability of a new front lens element before giving it
much
consideration.
