Daytrips
I know this is a little off topic, well sort of. Planning a hike, this is more of a nature walk, obvviously the camera is going, but wondering what others take on such a trip, both camera and non-camera related. Maximum weight under 40lbs. This is a one day trip. Destination: a non-operating park, in the Ontario Provincial Parks system (essentially the province provides, garbage can, outhouse, and parking (for a small fee). Date late April, about 50km from Toronto. Around 6km of trails, snows gone, cooler temperatures (around 0C to 5C overnight), daytime highs are running between 10C and 20C. I have a pretty good idea of what I want to take, but would like to know what others would take, I know I missed something. Paul |

Daytrips
1. Water
2. Food 3. Toilet Paper 4. An extra layer of clothing (lighweight fleece) 5. Whistle 6. First Aid Kit 7. Rain Poncho 8. Map 9. Nikon F100 w/24-120 AF-S VR lens 10. Film I think that's most of it. If you're energetic, substitute a Pentax 645 NII w/ 45, 75, and 150mm lenses in lieu of the Nikon. "Paul Schmidt" wrote in message .. . I know this is a little off topic, well sort of. I always carry a small LED model that runs, seemingly forever, off of 4 AAA batteries. |

I have a Hexanon 200mm f3.5 weighs about twice what the body does, but sharp as a tack, just added that this past Winter, I doubt there are any modern lenses that would beat this more then 20 year old lens. Just thought the 135mm wasn't quite long enough. Add on a 2x converter, and it's still sharp, and gives me 400mm at ~f/8. I have two Konica bodies an FC-1 which is out for it's 5,000,000 mile tuneup.... Have a TC as well, talked to the repair shop this morning and the FC-1 should be coming back next week :-) Paul |

You peaked my curiosity. Is it the Elora Gorge?
