wide angle filters
Hi Group,
I already have a 72mm wide angle polarizer filter. Would that work on 72mm telephoto lens? I guess what I'm really saying is: are there any differences between a normal filter and a "wide angle" one, other than the latter being made thinner by removing front threading? Thanks, Moe |

If the filter ring size is the same you can use the WA filter on a longer lens, but not always the other way around. -- Joseph E. Meehan 26 + 6 = 1 It's Irish Math |

No problem using a filter on a longer lens as the angle of view goes down. Using any filter on wider lenses poses more problems, hence the various "thin" filters. -- -- rec.photo.equipment.35mm user resource: -- http://www.aliasimages.com/rpe35mmur.htm -- e-meil: there's no such thing as a FreeLunch.-- |
