Portfolio question
I have been putting together a portfolio/slide show in Power Point for
CD distribution. My first issue is culling the images - my initial target market is little league parents, soccer moms, kids athletics, etc. However, I want to include some portraiture work, candids, and maybe some landscapes/nature. The reasoning behind that is to put the relevant, or "target market", shots at the beginning of the slideshow, so if they shut it down, it's no loss. Plus, you never know what kind of nerve you may hit with a broader range of subject - someone may need some corporate work or architecture or what have you, or where the CD's will ultimately end up. Secondly, captions with the images or no captions? I have viewed it both ways several times and am still on the fence. Though I am leaning towards leaving them in, as it won't deter anyone, and may help some people feel the image a little more deeply. Thoughts there....? I would be glad to share the .ppt with anyone who can DL a 15mb file and happens to have roughly four extra minutes on their hands! I can send by Pando if interested. Thx, B |

I was just wondering about your use of PowerPoint, did you have a look at the Photo Story 3 freeware from Microsoft? It turns photos into AVIs where you can add background music and add special effects, etc. Easily playable on PCs, Mac and some DVD players. I haven't really looked at it myself, but it seemed easy to use: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...y/default.mspx |
