Default Editing: How to make a face slimmer

Is there a way using editing software to make a person's face slimmer?
I have Adobe Elements 3.0 and Microsoft Digital Image 2006. My mother
in-law asked me many times if I can make her face slimmer that was taken
at my brother in-law's wedding. Also, how complicated would this be?

Thanks

I can think of plenty of hardware items that could make a person's
face slimmer, but I think you are talking about something

....a bit more subtle than power tools.

I hiccupped.

One trick is to resize the width of the pic to 95% without changing
the height. Of course this affects the whole pic, but usually isn't
very noticeable.

Yes, although the morals of (effectively) lying to everyone
who views the picture might give you pause.

When I wanted to make my face appear slimmer, I used the stitch
technique. I sewed my mouth together to stop eating. Didn't work. :-(
