Default What is at the moment the best digital SLR?

I´m thinking in buying one of this Digital SLR, the Olympus E-300 or the
Pentax IST D, what do you think of them?

It depends what you intend to do with them.
For low light the Pentax will be better.
(don't be taken in by the "full frame transfer"
blurb in the Olympus ads; the sensor in the
E-series is smaller than the APS-sized unit
in the Pentax, so the pixel sites are smaller).
The supersonic wave dust filter in the E-300
is nice, but unless you are in a particularly
hostle environment dust can be dealt with.
For everyday use either will work reasonably.
Your choice of lenses on the Pentax is better
(including twenty-year-old second-hand lenses),
although in theory a full kit based on the
Olympus would be lighter. There again, if
lens availability is a major consideration
you should look at a Canon solution.

Personally, if you are considering the E-300
I'd have thought the *ist-DS worth lookin at;
it does almost everthing the *ist-D does, but
costs considerably less.

oops - my reading comprehension could be better

I consider E-300 or IST DS. The IST D is to expensive.

The E-Volt isn't available yet, so we don't know if it's any good.
Comparisons are impossible at the moment.
