Sekonic L-518

I have a Sekonic Digipro L-518 X-1 exposure meter that I bought used about a
year ago. Great little meter, but seems to be a real battery eater even
though I don't use it that much (runs on a single AA, so battery cost is not
a problem in any case). Just curious - is this model known for battery
consumption, is it using power even when turned off, anyone noticed the same
problem?

I've had a Sekonic and a Minolta and now a new Sekonic. None could be
termed battery eaters ... quite the opposite.
