optical + digital zoom question
In general, if a camera is advertised as having an optical zoom of say 3x
and a digital zoom of say 5x, does this mean that when the optical zoom has been fully activated then the digital zoom can then zoom in a further 5x (i.e. to a 15x zoom altogether), or does it mean that after the optical zoom is fully activated the digital zoom can then zoom further just to make a total of 5x altogether? Hope that makes sense  Thanks in advance.
