Agfa and Konica films - most missed?

The only one I think was unique was Konica's Impresa 50. Ironically it
looks like Konica's product has dried up quicker than Agfa's, even though
they claimed they'd be making film for another year.

I miss Afga's old CT-18. It's a shame the process did not produce long
term stable color, because for a decade or so it was the most honest,
natural and neutral transpacency film available. I also still miss
Ansco Versapan35... blew the doors off Plus X...and Adox KB-17, the
nicest medium slow film for clean graphics. The Efke100, supposed to be
a current KB-17, doesn't even come close. I once got a brick of
Freestyle closeout 3M CN200 which had apparently been stored wrong and
had a color balance like no other film I've ever used. I couldn't
render pastels very well...very high contrast...all high chroma colors
where just maxed...but it produced the most magical browns and greys.
It was a terrible film for clearly sunlit subjects, but wonderful under
an overcast sky. I would love to have a couple of bricks of that stuff
in the freezer.

APX-25 is what I miss and Konica IR.

Scala for me too. I never used APX 25, nor APX 100, and I am relieved
that I didn't, given the number of people who are extremely sad about
their demise. Few emulsions have ever earned such loyalty.

However, I was lucky to secure a large stock of Agfa APX 25 for resale
shortly before it was discontinued, and it certainly sold very well.

APX 100 never did much for me but APX 25 was amazing. I shot a bunch on 6X9
and it looked as good as 4X5 to me on prints up to 16X20.

I've seen some outstanding work done with APX 25 in 35mm. As I said
before, I am almost glad I never used it, because I would have missed
it so much when Agfa went bust.

I remember some rumblings about Ilford considering a slow, super-fine
grain emulsion that would ease some of the TechPan and APX angst. Has
anyone heard anything lately?

No, but one of the new Rollei films is being touted as as APX-25
replacement.

Anyone tried it?

It also seems that the curves published for Rollei Retro 100 and Retro
400 match the old AGFA APX100 and APX400. In fact, even the other
specifications match the old AGFA emulsions. Apparently MACO are
producing these for Rollei.
