The End of What Was Once A Great Group.
"Helen" wrote in message ... It has become impossible to talk about photography on this newsgroup without ensuing arguments and attacks. There is no point in posting a photographic subject or a pic because it always ends the same way. It's a damn shame too because I actually learned a lot of valuable information here and I was inspired and impressed by honest-to- goodness photographers who have the same passion and committment I do about photography. It's just not worth it to even drop by now and then. Helen This is the story of "life on Usenet". It is the same on all groups......You have to separate out the trolls from the others, and learn to let them just wash off of your back, while you concern yourself with the intelligent posters. And it is frequently difficult to tell the difference. In many cases you will find yourself being dragged down to their level, until you finally realize that you have allowed yourself to be drowned in their stupidity....Ideally, I would have a list of names that I don't respond to, but then, people do sometimes learn, and if you kept a, "stupid list", then you would be refusing to believe in the possibility that there could be any improvement. So what I do, is accept everyone into any new discussion without prejudice until they prove themselves to be impossible to deal with. |
