Recommedations for a Digital Camera $300.-- - $400.00 Street Price

I want to buy a digital camera that'll be used primarily for baby pictures,
family snap shots, etc.
Which accessories should I buy? I did a search on the PC Magazinbe web
site, but it was that helpful.
Desired qualities:

ease of use
sharp lense
light weight

I bought a Sony Cyber-shot DSC W1 and a 512MB Memory Stick Pro.
for my son. He needs an easy to use p&s camera.
