Mystery Blue
I took a shot of one of my wife's orchids last week and ran it through
Photoshop CS. The only thing that I did was 'Auto Levels' and it came out with a blue background. There is nothing in the shadehouse that is blue and I can't figure out where it came from. My wife likes the photo and I printed her an 8.5 x 11, which I have to admit looks great. It is he http://www.pbase.com/dondunlap/image/37543207 Can someone tell me how the blue got there? Don Dunlap I would bet, since the predominate color in the picture is yellow, that something tried to adjust white balance and added the blue to make things average out. |

Sometimes this simple filter works great but it's not to be fully trusted. |

I tried a copy of the same photo with Elements and the same thing happened. I know that I can't depend on the Auto Levels all the time, but this time the screwup turned out looking pretty good. I have had Auto Level adjustments not work out in the past, but this was different. It actually looks pretty good. The blue was so widespread over the background that I thought there might be a reason for it that even I could understand. Don Dunlap |

It is he I Dunno where the blue came from, but the orchids she has are gorgeous! I Love the deep reds, "Kiilani" and "New City", and the deep red lip on 'Lea'. Lovely, she does a great job! |
