Default Anyone here tried the Olympus P-11 printer?

For some reason, every "review" I've found of one of these photo
printers is little more than a recycled press release, and user reviews
are either "IT R0X0RS!!!!11!" or "IT SUX0RS!!111!".

I'd like to find some print samples and see how it compares to the other
dye-sub photo printers out there. The fact that it has an all-internal
print path is quite appealing...

I'm seeing it around for $75 on clearance. I just hope they aren't
going to get out of the business and make it impossible to find media
refills..

The problem with dyesub printers is that the paper is propritary, so
while the Olympus dye subs were relatively well thought of. Be certain
you can still get paper and ribbons. This is what happened to the ALPS
printers a few years ago, no supplies so there is one in my attic.

The Epson Picturemate, it is a far, far better printer than the
Olympus P11. The Olympus P11 is on clearance for very good reasons,
including the fact that it didn't sell at all well.

The P11 is also slow, and dye sublimation has no advantages over the
Epson inkjet system in the Picturemate.
