If your expectations are low enough, why not?

But then it wouldn't be professional, would it?

Just because its digital, and "don't know anything about photography"
that one could even think of getting professional results "every" time
is simply absurd. Photography is an art, and it takes years
to learn the balance of light, composition, and the technical aspects
of exposure time, f/stops, ISO and noise, color management, etc.
You can execute the technical aspects perfectly and still
get poor results.

Well, in essence, isn't that what learning to be a photographer is all
about?

Understanding your camera, understanding light, understanding
composition ... implementing your understandings with pre-visualization
to create the image you want.

I don't know if this lady's book is any good as a teaching aid, but it
doesn't offer any more or less than dozens of photography books on the
shelves at Barnes & Nobles.

The main argument against it as far as I can see is the self portrait at
the bottom of the web page doesn't match the hype.

But everyone started somewhere to learn these things. There was some
point in all of our lives that we too had "never picked up a camera".

What this book promises is no different than what I got from any number
of books I bought when I was first interested in photography, when I
first decided to move beyond snapshots.

Does she deliver?

I don't know, but I know she's not promising anything more than Kodak,
Hedgecoe, Shaw et al promised in their books.

I have never seen a book with such astounding claims, and I have
over 3 thousand books, hundreds on photography.

This person claims, for example:
"Just a short time (weeks) from now you could be getting
the high standard of photos that you've always wanted....
In just a few weeks! Some professionals take years
to learn to get what you can in a fraction of the time."
and
"Imagine being able to take your camera anywhere and get
the shots to turn out exactly the way you want, every time."

No professional can do this, at least none I have ever heard
of, nor have I every heard any make such an outrageous
claim, nor seen in it print.

Then just look at the pictures on the website. Case closed
They are not of any high standard.
