Killfile problem

I have killfiled D-Mac, Annika1980, Rita and RichA... yet I am still
subjected to their **** because you guys can't resist responding to their
trolls. It would be more pleasant for us all if you could resist.

When did I give you permission to speak on my behalf? I can't recall
doing so.

If it really concerns you so much, then learn to filter properly. Don't
just killfile individuals, killfile all threads started by them plus all
responses within threads from them. Or just learn to use your intellect
and judgment and ignore what you don't like. Whatever you decide, stop
asking others to modify their way of doing things simply simply because
you can't be bothered to modify your way of doing things. Nobody is on
usenet for the purpose of making life easier for you.

censorship of what is deemed unwanted or undesireable always
seems like such a pleasant and benign thing until it is leveled
at you either in reality as you're suggesting or through NSP
censorship or the old-fashioned way you controlled kids on the
playground you didn't like, by negative peer pressure of
isolating and beating them up until they went away. Maybe that's
OK, but maybe it's not because what happens if YOU become the
target of this NG's silencing efforts, or your NSP's censorship,
or when your government says that no one with a "." in their name
can post? Censorship in any form is dangerous, it is an
abomination, and it is a very slippery slope down to where the
government gets involved and lays rules on people as to what they
may and may not say. Those governments are usually called closed
or tyrannical or dictatorships when they attempt to control the
press.

I think you should re-read the First Amemdment which, among other
things, guarantees the right to be stupid and say stupid things
but it also gives others the right to ignore stupid people. So,
if you're not smart enough to use more advanced filtering than
just simple killfiling/plonking, why not give the benefit of the
doubt to those you disagree with and simply not look at anything
they say as an OP or in reply to others. But, be very careful
because you may find that you've lost all your former friends and
casual acquaintances because you put them into a bad guy bucket
and after that there's nothing left but your own golden voice
crying in the wilderness.

If the Bill of Rights teaches us nothing else, it is that
everyone no matter their race, national origin, religion, sexual
orientation, genger, or any other tangible attribute has the same
and equal right to freely express themselves. In fact, the true
test of "free speech" is to knowingly give those you violently
disagree with a chance to be heard. Sometimes, a really
interesting thing happens when one is open minded - they actually
hear threads of thoughts from people they hate and occasionally
change their minds. But, if you stamp out all dissenting
throught, you're left with only your own small mind and no one
left to talk to at all.

So, think about it before you foment anarchy here and try to tell
others they are being obnoxious lest you become the obnoxious
one. In other words, never throw strones out of a glass house.
